Jim Harbaugh's first season leading the Los Angeles Chargers was a success. He brought the team to the postseason despite a lot of roster turnover and established a long-needed defensive identity for the club alongside defensive coordinator Jesse Minter.
As Harbaugh enters his second season with the team, he will look to get the Chargers a playoff win for the first time since 2018. To do that, he will need to continue building the roster in his image, alongside general manager Joe Hortiz.
The Chargers have navigated some notable departures during the offseason. Long-time edge rusher Joey Bosa was released by the team and joined the Buffalo Bills, while Poona Ford – who starred as a run-stuffing presence last season – signed with the Los Angeles Rams.
That leaves the Chargers seeking depth and talent along their defensive line, especially with 34-year-old Khalil Mack set to play on a one-year deal in 2025. Luckily, this year's class is deep along the defensive front, so Los Angeles should be able to improve in that area with ease.
The Chargers could also use some pass-catching talent to go with Ladd McConkey, who thrived as a rookie. Additionally, there are a handful of early-round Michigan products with whom Harbaugh will be familiar after coaching them in college. That could lead the Chargers to target a player like Mason Graham, Will Johnson, Kenneth Grant or Colston Loveland should one fall to them.
