It is believed the Arizona Cardinals have their eyes on some of the edge rushers that are projected to be selected in the first round. However, they aren't the only ones.
At least three edge rushers are expected to be selected before the Cardinals make their selection at No. 16 overall.
The New York Giants are expected to select Penn State's Abdul Carter with the third overall pick.
After that, The Athletic's Dianna Russini has heard that two teams ahead of the Cardinals are definitely targeting the edge.
The Niners hold the 11th pick in the draft.
The Falcons have the 15th pick, one selection before the Cardinals. If Pearce and Green are going to be the targets for the Falcons and no other team other than the Giants, Falcons and 49ers take an edge rusher in the first 15 picks, then the Cardinals will have at least one of the two Georgia edge rushers — Jalon Walker or Mykel Williams — on the board available for them to take.
That would be perhaps the perfect scenario.
We will see how the draft plays out later today. It begins at 5 p.m. Arizona time.
