The New York Giants selected Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft and then got bold.

After hinting that they may trade back up into the first round, general manager Joe Schoen did exactly that, sending three picks (one of them from 2026) to the Houston Texans in exchange for pick No. 25 overall. With that, he landed their franchise quarterback of the future in Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss.

It was a quality effort by the Giants, who ended up with the best player available while avoiding an overdraft at the quarterback position.

With Day 1 now in the books, here are the Giants' remaining picks over the next 48 hours:

Day 2

  • Round 3: No. 65

Day 3

  • Round 4: No. 105
  • Round 5: No. 154 (from Seattle)
  • Round 7: No. 219
  • Round 7: No. 246 (from Buffalo)

The Giants do not have a sixth-round pick (No. 177) after sending it to the Buffalo Bills in exchange for linebacker Boogie Bashman back in 2023. As part of that trade, the Giants acquire Buffalo's seventh-round pick (No. 246).
