Northern Ireland golfer and TGL co-founder Rory McIlroy beat J.J Spaun for The Players Championship title in a tiebreaking playoff on Monday at The Players Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.
McIlroy, 35, won the trophy on St. Patrick's Day, after experiencing a four-hour weather delay on Sunday. He was leading shortly before the delay, which occurred at 1:15 p.m. before officially resuming at 5:15 p.m.
McIlroy turned professional in 2007, and currently has 28 career wins under his belt including a 2019 Players Championship and 2012 and 2014 PGA Championships.
