I was at the game today and it was great to see the starting infield of Estrada, Jackson, Hudson, Drew and Tracy. A lot of young talent there. Upton is a huge guy in person. For an 18 year old he is giant. He is easily 6'2 225lbs. He hit well today. I also was impressed with the range of Eric Byrnes. He is going to be able to get to balls that Green and Gonzo aren't able too. He makes the outfield a lot smaller with the ground he can cover.

JUSTIN UPTON!!!

He has a beautiful, fast, level swing -- we were joking after his first punch-out 'now -- he just needs to connect' and POW!! A screaming liner for a 2 rbi triple!

Chad Tracy was the guy we think he can be -- disciplined, hit, hit, hit. Drew has nice soft hands, decent arm -- his defense is already an improvement.

But you know it's just Spring Training when Ortiz, Terrero, and Jerry Gil all look good. LOL.

Brian Barden, who started coming into his own late last season for the Sidewinders, looked good at third when he took over for Tracy. Conor made contact every time, but two flyouts and a ground out to show for it.

Nice to see Miggy on the mound. Not quite so nice to see Bruney and Daigle, who both had trouble closing their inning.

The team feels much better than they did the first day last year -- probably took more walks than they did in any single game all last season.

Hooray for Josh Byrnes!!! Hooray for Mike Rizzo!!
