Man the clips will lose their entire starting lineup from last year

Miller will go to Denver

Maggette to Utah

Brand and Odom to Miami

Kandi is already in Minny

These guys are going to be brutal next year and the years to come.

And everyone thought at the start of last year that the LAC were the team of the future

Odom isn't going to Miami is he? I didn't think Miami would have enough money to sign anyone else after the big offer to Elton Brand.

Of course I expect the clippers to match at least Brand. And if they let Magette and Miller go they might go after Arenas as well.

The people here in LA are expecting the Clips to match only Brand and Odom. (Apparently, the organization LOVES Lamar Odom for some reason)

Not hard to picture why they would love Lamar Odom.
Based on just talent he is a top20 player in the league at least and he will be cheap to match because nobody can really offer better than the midlevel exemption.

And that will happen, IMO.
Furthermore I wouldn't exclude that they will sign Arenas.

The Clipps will keep Brand, but there is nothing I would love more than to see Elton in Miami playing for Pat.

I heard that Brands contract has a clause that requires the team to pay him his annual salary in one lump sum at the beggining of the year.

Can you see Sterling writing a check for 12 million dollars?:D

It is actually possible is could be a 28 million dollar check. Insider said that with his signing bonus, about 1/4 of the total contract value would be paid before training camp.

Here is a snippet from teh article. Apparently it might be 33% not 25

The news for Donald couldn't be worse. The agents for Brand, Miller and Maggette appear to all be playing by the same script. It's a nasty one.

Miller's offer sheet from the Nuggets is the gold standard. It includes a 25 percent signing bonus, payable up front. It includes a provision to have 70 percent of his salary paid on Oct. 15. Brand and Maggette are believed to have signed similarly structured deals though Brand's also may include a maximum 15 percent trade kicker.

In effect, 33 percent of a six-year offer could be made payable immediately.

Do the math and then sit down for the sticker shock. Brand's offer (Heat) was for six years, $82 million. Miller's was for six years, $51 million. Maggette's (Jazz) was for six years, $45 million. If the Clippers truly intend to match all offers as Clippers vice president Andy Roeser reaffirmed in a statement Wednesday night, then Donald's looking at an up front payment of $58.7 million to keep his three players.

Isn't Donald Sterling an extremely wealthy man? I think he will match Brand's contract, and it wouldn't surprise me if he matched Magette's. I would be really surprised if he matched Andre Miller's contract.
