The United Football League returns this week and there are 16 former Denver Broncos players suiting up for the 2025 season.

The list of ex-Broncos playing in the UFL this spring includes three quarterbacks, with Kevin Hogan having the most notable (but still short-lived) tenure in Denver.

Hogan (San Antonio Brahmas) spent the entire 2018 season as a backup with the Broncos behind Case Keenum, but he did not appear in any regular season games.

Jarrett Guarantano (San Antonio Brahmas) and Case Cookus (Birmingham Stallions) are also rostered in the UFL. Guarantano joined Denver's practice squad late in the 2022 season, but he did not appear in any games. Cookus had a three-day stint with the Broncos in 2021 after trying out at rookie minicamp.

There are no higher-profile ex-Denver quarterbacks such as Chad Kelly or Paxton Lynch in the UFL this season (not even Kyle Sloter is on a roster this spring). Kelly is currently playing for the Toronto Argonauts in the CFL.

In addition to the 16 ex-players, former Broncos defensive coordinators Wade Phillips (San Antonio Brahmas) and Mike Nolan (Michigan Panthers) will serve as head coaches in the UFL this year. Friday night's season opener will feature the St. Louis Battlehawks facing the Houston Roughnecks at TDECU Stadium on Fox.
