Few players in Oregon Ducks history have garnered as much hype and intrigue before their careers even started as freshman wide receiver Dakorien Moore. A 5-star recruit rated as the No. 1 WR in the 2025 class, Moore has built quite a following among the Oregon fanbase already, with many itching to see what he can do on the field.

It makes sense, too. Based on his high school tape, and the type of highlight-reel catches that he has put on film over the past couple of years, there are expectations that he can come to Eugene and be an instant difference-maker for the Ducks, much like we saw last year with Jeremiah Smith at Ohio State, and Ryan Williams at Alabama.

Hype and intrigue are one thing, though. Producing and living up to the expectations is something else entirely.

According to Moore's teammates, that hasn't been a problem thus far through six spring practices.

"Oh, he's a freak, for sure," quarterback Austin Novosad said on Tuesday. "I think he runs very explosive routes, goes up, high-points the ball. He's gonna make lots of plays for us."

While practice has been closed to media members for this spring season, while construction at the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex pushed the team to either the Moshofsky Center or inside Autzen Stadium, there have been few glimpses of Moore in an Oregon uniform.

The social media team gave fans a bit of eye candy last week, though, posting a short clip of Moore displaying some impressive athleticism and leaping to snag a ball away from safety Kingston Lopa.

More than the highlights on the field, though, it sounds like Moore is excelling in the meeting room, as well. Veteran WR Gary Bryant Jr. told media members on Tuesday that the 18-year-old 's off-field work just adds to the package.

"Very explosive. He's a young guy that came in here and already got the playbook down," Bryant said. "Could play any position in the receiving room, from X, Y, Z, A. He's an explosive receiver, got good hands, got good routes, good size. I think the future's bright for him for sure."

That's a sentiment echoed by new WR coach Ross Douglas, who didn't know much of Moore before joining the Ducks this spring, but didn't take long to realize what a special talent he gets to work with.

"What sticks out to me is he's a young, ascending player who's very, very talented, and he wants to be great," Douglas said on Tuesday. "He just has to get reps. He has to adjust to the speed of the game. In high school, he steps on the field, every time he's better than every single guy there. And college football might be the same way, but in the day now, he just has to adjust to the speed of the game, get on the same page with all the quarterbacks, and just continue to get reps. The only way you get better at playing football is by playing football. So he's just doing that right now. He's out there. He's available. He's doing everything he can to make sure he's a good football player."

It won't be until the spring game on April 26 that fans get a close look at what Moore is able to do on the field, but the early indications are certainly promising. The 5-star came to Oregon as one of the highest-rated commits in program history. If his career plays out as expected, there's a good chance he leaves Eugene as one of the best players in program history as well.
