INDIANAPOLIS -- With 2.8 seconds left and the game tied, 60-60, Houston's Milos Uzan inbounded the ball, got the ball back and hit a layup with .8 seconds remaining to beat Purdue at Lucas Oil Stadium, sending the Cougars to Sunday's Elite Eight.
"We call it a three read," Houston coach Kelvin Sampson said of the play. "They took away the first option but our discipline allowed us to get to the second option and the third read let us get to the third option. Credit to our guys for executing.
"That's why you work on it day after day after day. You never know when you'll need it."

I’ve seen a lot of basketball. That in bounds play by Houston made me speechless.

Incredible sequence. @BoilerBall pre-switched the @UHCougarMBK “bread & butter” late clock play for Cryer. Kelvin Sampson anticipated the pre switch and used it against Purdue. Incredible late game chess match.

That might be one of the best inbound plays I’ve ever seen.

Houston survives and advances. Incredible play design and execution to set up that game-winning basket.

What an incredible play -- and a reminder to guard the inbounder!

Kelvin Sampson’s baseline out-of-bounds game winning score is one of the best I’ve ever seen. It was brilliant. I challenge anyone to find a better game ending BOB play. I can’t believe what I just witnessed. That should have been overtime with under 3 seconds remaining!
