No. 14 Texas A&M (22-10, 11-7 SEC) headed back to College Station after losing to rival Texas 94-89 in double overtime on Thursday afternoon, as the Aggies will now await to see where they will be seeded and play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament during Selection Sunday.

While overanalyzing a meaningless loss is an empty exercise, head coach Buzz Williams' questionable timeout after the Aggies led by four points in the first overtime could have ended in star guard Wade Taylor IV hitting his third 3-pointer for a seven-point lead with just over a minute left. Still, Williams didn't like what he saw and simply made a coaching decision that backfired.

Losing to your rival is never fun, but the Longhorns were beyond desperate for a win to earn a potential bid to The Big Dance, while the Aggies are likely locked into a 3 or 4-seed based on their elite resume, which includes a late win over Auburn and eight Quad 1 victories.

After the loss, Buzz Williams, along with Wade Taylor and senior forward Henry Coleman III, were upbeat with their now toward the NCAA Tournament, which will be the last run for all eight Aggie seniors, including reserve guard sharpshooter CJ Wilcher, who, during his only season with Texas A&M is confident that the team will be ready while noting that pure motivation isn't an issue.

"This shouldn't add any fuel to the fire, the flames should already be flaming."

Joined by senior guard Manny Obaseki and senior forward Andersson Garcia, KBTX Sports Director Tyler Shaw provided an interview video from the locker room:
