Fewer high-fives and monologues. More football.
Teddy Bridgewater had a simple critique for the next generation of football talent.
The NFL quarterback took to Facebook and laid down some groundwork for highlight tapes, noting that potential prospects in today's game spend far too much time focusing on meaningless filler and not enough time on the actual game footage showing off their talent.
"Kids highlight tapes these days will have a minute worth of them dapping up teammates and opponents, 30 more seconds of them pointing and talking to the cameraman… All that for them to have 2 catches for 8 yards in 7on7!
"It's like what you trying to show these colleges you have great social skills? All content isn't 'quality content.'"
The former Louisville slinger ended the post with what he views as the main point of a highlight tape.
"These scouts want to see plays! Actual reps!"
Bridgewater certainly has the resume to speak on such an area, having played in the NFL for 11 seasons with 75 touchdown passes and over 15,000 years. He was a four-star recruit in high school, with schools like Miami (Fla.), Florida, and LSU showing interest, as well as Louisville.

This past year, he had one of the more interesting journeys, which included both high school and professional football: he led Miami Northwestern to a Florida state football title (first since 2019) in Year One as head coach, finishing with a 12-2 record. He capped that off by joining the Detroit Lions as a backup to Jared Goff.
That's quite a highlight reel.
A few weeks ago Teddy Bridgewater was coaching his high school team to a state championship.
Now he’s playing in the NFL Playoffs.
