UCLA won 77-67 in OT but this game should have been won by Stanford in regulation. UCLA trailed the whole game, made a furious late comeback to tie it up on clutch FT's by Westbrook, and Stanford had the ball with 20 seconds left. Lawrence Hill hit an off balance driving shot, honestly I thought he charged but they weren't calling charges all night. UCLA inbounds to Collison who goes 1 on 3, Hill blocks the shot clean but they made a terrible call with 2.4 left. DC hits the 2 clutch FT's forcing the OT.

Hate to see a game decided like that there's no question Hill didn't foul Collison, I almost think it was a makeup because the ref realized that Hill got away with a charge. Stanford played a great game, never seen Robin Lopez play this well on offense.

I actually hope USC beats Stanford so that the outcome of this game doesn't decide the conference because Stanford should have won this game tonight.

Unfortunate call against Stanford at the end. It's weird, the refs were letting both teams play very physical through out the night, then call that play at the end of the game?? Do you recall which ref called the foul - the one underneath the basket or the one up top?

Stanford is going to be tough in the tournament as long as they can keep the Lopez' out of foul trouble. We all know what Brook can do offensively, but when Robin can do what he did tonight, I'm not sure how you defend them. Their offense against the UCLA double team in the post was the best I've seen this year. It wasn't great, but it was just better than anyone else has done. They actually got a few good looks.

Glad to see 3 Pac-10 championships in a row, would be even better to see 3 Final Fours in a row.

Yep if Robin plays like that consistently look out below there's not a team in the country that has the ability to defend both those guys if Robin is playing like that.

I don't know which ref made the call but even collison said after the game he "heard it was a makeup call." That won't sit well with the refs but come on that was a terrible call. I do think Hill got away with a charge on the go ahead basket, and to be fair, if they don't make that call UCLA is still inbounding under their basket with 2.4 left so they have a CHANCE to tie or win the game in regulation but calling a foul there was just awful.

Getting old sucks. I watched the first half and fell asleep at halftime and missed the rest.

Looks like Collison stepped up big again, if I read the stats right.

Darren was huge in teh 2nd half and Love and Westbrook were too.

I thought it was a bad call but you have to realize UCLA made up 11 points in 5 minutes at the end of the game despite Stanford getting some ridiculous breaks. Finger banks in a shot from straight on 18 feet, 2 pass deflections go right to a Stanford player for a layup. It was one of those games where you just didn't see any way UCLA can win because everytime they got close Stanford answered.

I just hate to see bad calls play such a big role in a big game.

FYI Bill McCabe coordinator of refs for the Pac 10 seems to agree it was a bad call. he was there and said after the game he told the ref who called it that while there was body contact, he felt not enough to warrant a call it should be "strong contact" to warrant a foul call.

The weird thing(it's in Andy Katz's blurbs on ESPN) is he said the refs did a great job of keeping the marquee bigs(Love and Brook Lopez) in the game and not on the bench in foul trouble. He said in a game of that magnitude you want the stars on the court not the bench so he felt the refs did a good job of that. I get the idea, let them play, but the way he said it's almost as if he's admitting to directing the officials to NOT call fouls on Love and Brook Lopez which seems a bit odd to me?

Breaks like the and-1 call Prince Luc got with less than a minute left? The Furd got hosed big time. I have no clue how anyone rational person could've called Law Hill's block a foul. Gotta love Pac-10 officiating, no wonder the rest of the country thinks we're a joke.

I could spend an hour listing bad calls from that game. The and 1 you mention. Down the other end Love's 4th foul he did the pull the chair trick on Brook Lopez, Brook lost his balance took 3 steps and hit the bottom of the backboard with an off balance shot and they called the foul on Love.

It was like that all night and the scary thing is it wasn't unusual. In the UCLA game against UA you have the blatant whack on the elbow of Bayless on the shot how can ANY ref miss that seeing how short the shot was and how Bayless reacted?

I think UCLA is the better team but I think Stanford should have won last night for sure. And I don't think its the job of the refs to make sure the "best team" wins.

Classic find.

And did you notice, on the other coast, Tyler Hansbro did not get to try a single foul shot against Duke, at Duke?

Kzycraptski and Howling keep getting away with playing thugball while their opponents don't. To me, the PAC 10 and ACC refs are the worst in basketball.

You still upset about last years loss?

:D

Does seem UCLA is living a charmed life right now. I just hope someone finds Josh Shipp's jumpshot quickly or we may have a hard time winning past the first round in the NCAA's.
