I saw this last weekend at Scottsdale Camelview. It wasn't at all a bad movie to go to, but it brought back some unwanted memories since I recently left a relationship very similar to the one in this film. It's the type of movie that's easy to relate to and I enjoyed it. Stout, that is Zooey Deschanel to a t.. but it fit the role.

I got to see this movie today... and LOVED it.... It broke most every sterotype of your standard romantic comedy, and did it well...

I walked out thinking that was the most realistic human interaction comedy I had ever seen... highly recommend it...

Oh there is a thread. A "dude flick" (guy's chick flick?) that was very well done. If you were able to empathize with the main character you got a serious emotional roller-coaster ride. The side-by-side scene was gut wrenching.

And August is definitely better than Summer :D

LOL I was going to comment negatively on Zooey Deschenal, but find that I already have! Does she actually act in this movie, or do the 'I'm going to talk in monotone and you will think I'm acting' routine? I can't much stand her, really. I mean, I loved Tin Man, because it was an awesome concept, great visually, and had some wonderful acting, but she almost ruined it for me (kind of like Costner in Robin Hood).

Will she ruin this movie for me?

Yes. She has only one horse to ride on. This is no different.

But from Gordon-Levitt's perspective and his ability to act and just the general enjoyment of the movie you may like it.

He officially entered the realm of my wife's official Hollywood crush list, especially after the singing/dancing scene.

I really liked the movie, although I didn't like Zooey's character. Reminded me of many of my exes. But they do a good job of making JGL the main character and easily relatable as a guy.

Boring. Boring. Boring.

Zooey was terrible. I watched 10 minutes of this, and I stopped because I could not think of a reason why I should finish.

Can't stand Zooey.

Wife picked it a while ago for rent. We watched it.

Wasn't as bad as I thought. But Zooey is so freaking annoying and such a terrible actress.

Her schtick is the same, whether it be her character on Weeds, this movie, Yes Man, Tin Man, Elf, etc.

Recently watched it. Wise choice Mulli, it didn't get any better. Towards the end I was really looking forward to it being over. The only scene I liked was when he left his house in his robe.

I was the same way. I had heard good things about this movie and they keep playing it on HBO.

I've tried to watch it twice out of boredom and I wound up changing the channel both times, I just couldn't get into it at all.
