Isn't that like having a good version of KVB and also having the actual version of KVB?

Or having the real Grant Wistrom and the poor man's version (KVB).

What's wrong with Winstrom? I understand that a deal like this would include giving a division rival the #6 overall pick, but I think Winstrom would be better than having Holliday.

Hey, depending on the cap ramifications, I'd take Wistrom in a heartbeat for the #6 pick (and maybe for a 3rd or 4th or 5th rounder thrown in by the Rams). Here's why...

He's a good all-around DE. His numbers have been very good (averaging around 10 sacks a season, though last year he didn't do as well). He can stuff the run and rush the passer. Exactly what we need.

He's mean. He has the attitude of a nose tackle in a defensive end. I love it. He has grit to go with ability.

We'd be stealing him from a division rival. Granted, they'd get an extra first-rounder, but so what? They lose a pro-bowl type player and we gain one...we lose the # 6 and they gain...who knows? A bust? A star? It's all a crap shoot.

Yes, I'd do it, but I'd try to make the Rams add a mid-round pick to spice up the trade.

I would'nt, & I would hope that Rod Graves would'nt, give our #6 overall for Grant Wistrom or Vonnie Holliday neither is worth that....

Agreed! And as an added bonus, it would remove the temptation of making a play for Suggs. When do the Rams pick, #12? I'm sure there would be a stud DT ready to make an immediate impact still available...Kennedy maybe? No...surely not...

The only player I would trade the #6 for is the Jets' John Abraham. He's the only top 5 DE that's both young and without any injury concerns.

If it were a trade of our 1st round pick for just a player alone, you're right. You would definately have to shoot for the stars. But, if it were a pick for pick swap, I'd be happy with a player like Winstrom included as compensation.

I looked at him before I posted that. He's just got too much production and upside it seems for the Jets to go for it. I wouldn't if I were them.
