It is amazing how this team went from 7-3 road record to 0-7 at home.

Is this the real pitching staff? Have they been pitching above their collective heads until this or is this just a bump in the road?

I think they were way above their heads and that reality is setting in. this is a 500 ball club that played great for the 1st 2 months and have now reverted to what they actually are.

How does Gonzo stay in the 3rd or 4th position in the batting order? He should be batting 7th. It reminds me of Matt Williams his last year. Kept in the 4 hole but should have been in the 7th hole.

As to the losing steak I don't have any answers. Do you???

I just can't buy that this has all been because of Grimsley... they just don't look like the same team that could comeback from any deficit

We didn't expect a lineup of .300 hitters all season long . . . but we didn't expect the other extreme either.

It looks like the tremendous amount of 1st inning runs most of our starting pitchers are giving up is getting to the hitters and wearing them down emotionally.

Decent starting pitching should breath life back into the hitters.

The problem offensively is two-fold. First we do not have anyone on the roster who can create their own runs. Eric Byrnes has been our biggest offensive threat so far this season and he is predictably coming back to Earth. Gonzo and Green have evolved into slap hitters while Tracy is striking out way too much considering his power numbers and OBP.

When you have limited power in the middle of the lineup, runs need to be created by the top of the lineup getting on base. This month, we have not seen Byrnes or Counsell get on base with much frequency and it's causing the team to struggle scoring runs.

The problem was obviously Russ Ortiz. They call him up and can't win a game. They get rid of him and get a win. A coincidence? I think not.

I agree 21.5 million percent. :)

The Curse of the Ortiz Stubble Beard has been lifted. The team is now free to return to first place.
