7 games out of 8th, with 42 to go!

This is a biiiiiiiiig stretch, but, with 42 games left in the season does anyone see the suns sneaking into the 8th spot? They are 7 games out at this time, and with the way they are playing has it caused anyone to have an ounce of hope? Or has anyone atleast thought about it in the back of their minds?

It would be an amazing achievement and there is about a 10% chance of it happening. Honestly, I dont think it will, but I'm just curious as to if ANYONE thinks they have a shot. They would deffinantly have to go on a hot streak to finish it out, to say the least.

What do you think? And why?

I think 1 of 10 is optomistic. The problem is not the number of games back, but the number of teams ahead of the Suns.

Currently Utah and Memphis are tied for the 8th (and 9th) position with a record o 21-18. There are 4 other teams that have better records than the Suns. This means that the Suns have to beat out 6 other teams to get the 8th spot.

Last year the Suns benefited from a late season collapse by Houston. This year the Suns would need a collapse by six teams to get to the eigth spot. That is vastly less likely.

I agree, that would have been my choice also, but I'm happy to see that there are four sanguine fans on this board.

Actually, I'm already concerned the Suns will get really hot and screw up their draft status. Heck if they didn't keep having their top players get injured, they'd be doomed to a poor draft position.

yeah, it would be pretty crappy if the suns landed the 9th spot in the west.
