Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis earned the adoration of Celtics fans everywhere after taking an elbow to the forehead from Orlando Magic center Goga Bitadze on Wednesday night.
As the Celtics took 2-0 home lead over the Magic in the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs, Porzingis briefly exited Game 2 with a forehead injury after taking contact from Bitadze in the third quarter. The latter earned a flagrant foul for it after review.
Per ESPN, a bandaged, bloodied, smiling Porzingis got a loud and proud ovation from fans at TD Garden after receiving medical attention in the locker room. He impressively knocked down a free throw getting bandaged up, too, helping the Celtics earn their eventual 109-100 playoff victory.

His Celtics coach, Joe Mazzulla, was sure impressed with the center for his toughness.
"I like watching him bleed on the court," Mazzulla said in his postgame presser. "I think it's important."
If you want to endear yourself to a fan base, this is a heck of a way to do it. Porzingis is further writing his Boston legend, as Celtics fans won't forget this proud display of on-court mettle.
