If we're looking to upgrade on one of the lines and pick up another decent pick in the process, then there are options available. If the scenario works out where we only have to move 4-6 spots. Where SD, Miami or TB pick.

Trading down also affords you to be able to pick from several need area's including QB, DE/OLB, DL, OT or G. to start with. Then shift to other area's of need with the extra pick including still the above along with RB, TE and S. And don't forget it's a very deep WR draft and there will be very good recievers coming off the board still in the 3rd and 4th RD's. Marcus Wheaton and Jonathan Goodwin are two who this staff has/should show interest in. Quinton Patton is another.

Here are two of the better prospects we could look at if particularly SD or Miami want to move up to grab a prospect like Fisher.

LB Dion Jordan – Oregon - 6-7/243 .... What coaches and general managers want at the top of round one is upside, versatility, and the ability to contribute early on. Dion Jordan has all three. A freakish athlete with his ability to play low despite his height. Technically sound with good arm/hand use. Very fast, very fluid in space. Jordan spent a lot of time rushing the edge, out wide in coverage against wide receivers, and filling lanes against the run. He has the frame for more weight, and he will fit in to any scheme. Jordan is an explosive athlete with length, aggression, and versatility. He is a top 10 caliber player. <>

DE DaMontre Moore – Texas A&M – 6’4/250
Moore is arguably the most productive defensive player in this draft when looking at the past two seasons. 38.5 tackles for loss and 21 sacks, with one of those seasons in the SEC. Moore has upside, especially considering 2012 was his first full year as a defensive end. He has the frame and length to add bulk. Very aggressive, explosive upper body.

<>DT Sharrif Floyd – Florida – 6-3/303 ... <>Pound for pound, Floyd may be one of the most explosive athletes in the entire class. He carries 300+ pounds with ease. Very powerful player that can stand up interior blockers. Has the quickness to sneak by them and disrupt the action in the backfield. Floyd has been moved back and forth between the inside and outside. No matter what, he makes an impact because he creates a mismatch. NFL defenses is all about mismatches, especially in the trenches. He is too elusive for guards, too powerful for tackles and tight ends. He fits in to any scheme and in the era of amoeba defenses and altering schemes, Floyd has a lot of value. <>

There will still be two very good OLmen on the board as well in the 11-13 area.

LT Lane Johnson - Oklahoma

G/C Jonathan Cooper - North Carolina

And likely they will need to do their homework on:

QB Matt Barkley - USC

I think the first two will be long gone by 11

I am warming up to Dion Jordan at #7. I think he has been overlooked as a result of Oregons offensive production - a very fast player. Not just a fast player 'for his size' but fast in the absolute.

I think Clevland picks Jarvis Jones or Dion Jordan, mtl. Jax is on record of wanting to trade out of #2 and I'm sure KC wouldn't mind moving down either.
But as it stands right at this moment I see it going down like:

1- KC - Joekel
2- Jax - Werner
3- Oak - Lutulelei
4- Phil - Milliner
5- Det - D. Moore
6- *Buff - G. Smith
7- :newcards: - E. Fisher/Warmack
8- *Clev - J. Jones
9- NYJ - D, Jordan
10- Tenn - Warmack/Fisher

That still leaves us some options, and drafts rarely go how you predict they will.

Three good players, but whether they're worth trading down for depends on what we're trading down "from."

Fisher, mtl. Warmack could be available at 11. So could Barkley, J. Cooper, S. Floyd or possibly another one of the top 10 I've listed.
Again - I'm less concerned about whether Fisher or Warmack "might" be available at #10 or #11 and more concerned about passing up a Warmack or Fisher at #7 in order to draft Jordan, Moore or Floyd at #10 or #11 plus an extra pick.

It all comes down to how you evaluate each of those dudes, who's available and whether you feel you're giving up too much at the top to get a guy you like a few rungs later along with another pick.

Personally, I'd be leery about passing on Warmack in order to get a Moore or Jordan plus the extra pick.

PS Should we also factor in supply & demand? Shut-down offensive linemen might be scarcer than designated pass rushers (or vice versa).
