It's a coin flip between quarterback and defensive tackle for the biggest position of need for the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2025 NFL draft. Quarterback by default is a more important position but in terms of impact, the defensive tackle class in the upcoming draft is more promising.

Here is a defensive tackle option for the Steelers in each round of the draft minus the second round since the Steelers don't have a pick and we don't see them trading into the round to select one with how deep this group is.

First round - Kenneth Grant - Michigan

Grant is a powerful young man and fits the mold of a modern NFL nose tackle perfectly.

Third round - Omar Norman-Lott - Tennessee

Norman-Lott is a far better player than his 2024 season showed and with his combination of power and leverage, he could be an excellent pairing with Keeanu Benton's explosion.

Fourth round - JJ Pegues - Ole Miss

Peagues is a powerful nose tackle with enough athleticism that he played fullback and tight end in college.

Fifth round - Cam Horsley - Boston College

Pure two-down run stuffer who plays with a high motor and energy.

Sixth round - Nazir Stackhouse - Georgia

Stackhouse won't wow anyone with his athleticism and pass rush but his power and ability to anchor at the LSO is as good as any defensive tackle in the league.

Seventh round - Thor Griffith - Louisville

Similar to Horsley, Griffith is a power player with a low center of gravity and relentless pursuit.
