The Minnesota Vikings have had a tumultuous path down the ever-winding quarterback road in recent years. While Kirk Cousins gave some stability, Sam Darnold and J.J. McCarthy are now ushering in the new era from last year to the present day. Before them, though, general manager Rick Spielman was throwing darts trying to fix the position.

One of those darts is now seen as a quarterback worth starting, just not in the NFL.

Over the weekend, the UFL announced their rosters and starters, and for the San Antonio Brahmas, a former third-round pick has been announced as their starting quarterback. Kellen Mond, who was drafted by the Vikings after a college career at Texas A&M, will be starting for the UFL team named after Dewayne "the Rock" Johnson's wrestling nickname.

Mond played in just one game for the Vikings in 2021 and completed two of three passes for five yards. He would make jumps around the NFL on teams like the Browns, Colts, and Saints but never make it above their practice squad.

He now has a chance to write the ship of his career with this unique opportunity.
