Just saw this tonight. I thought it was outstanding and very touching. Tom Hanks' son plays Otto's younger self and did a great job.

I thought it was insufferable.

That's classic. I think it had a bigger impact on me since I am a lot older than you. My wife and I occasionally talk about who is going to go first, what is the other person going to do, bla bla bla, so this was right on point for us to watch together. And then right off the bat, I loved all the over-the-top grumpiness that I find myself having to watch out for as it creeps into my personality as I get older. I just loved Otto right off the bat.

It was interesting, when I went to get tickets, the box office was flooded with senior citizens and they were all getting tickets for this movie. Not that younger people can't enjoy it, but it was just funny.

It also seems the film industry is realizing that the demographics lean towards an older crowd with the "greying of America" we are in. They are pumping out some real crap, like that Tom Brady movie and there was another trailer with something similar. Talk about insufferable.

The Book Club sequel. We instantly saw four old ladies and assumed it was 80 for Brady.

Let me know how it was. This was filmed in my neck of the woods, and Tom Hanks was wonderful while he was here.
We really liked it. Like the original author, we can identify with Otto (Ove in the book). Enjoyed the way the story unfolded and thought Truman Hanks was great as a younger Otto. It was his acting debut, too. I saw that Rita Wilson was the executive producer and wrote/co-wrote some songs for it so it really was a family project of sorts.
