Timothy Olyphant Makes A Perfect Getaway

Timothy Olyphant (Hitman, Live Free or Die Hard) will topline A Perfect Getaway for Relativity Media. Variety says MGM will distribute the action-thriller.

David Twohy (The Fugitive) has signed on to direct from a screenplay he wrote. The story centers on a newlywed couple who encounter two strange hikers.

Relativity's Ryan Kavanaugh is producing alongside Tucker Tooley and Robbie Brener. John Davis, Bill Block and Kimberly Fox are executive producing.

The project starts shooting March 17 in Puerto Rico.

Plot Summary: Cliff and Cydney are an adventurous young couple celebrating their honeymoon by backpacking to one of the most beautiful, and remote, beaches in Hawaii. But when the pair comes across a group of frightened hikers discussing the horrifying murder of another newlywed couple on the islands, they begin to question whether they should turn back. Unsure whether to stay or flee, Cliff and Cydney join up with two other couples, and things begin to go terrifyingly wrong. Far from civilization or rescue, everyone begins to look like a threat and nobody knows whom to trust. Paradise becomes hell on earth as a brutal battle for survival begins...

Watched this on Saturday. I would have been disappointed had I paid to see it in a theater but it was a good DVD to rent. Decent twist at the end.
