Wojnarowski of Yahoo Sports reports, according to league sources, that Stern will depart on Feb 1, 2014. It would be more satisfying to have the owners flush him down but you can't have everything. His assistant Adam Silver will replace him

Just pulled this off Adam Silvers wikipedia page (mightve changed by now)

Commissioner of the NBAAs of October 25, 2012, the NBA Board of Governors unanimously selected Silver to succeed David Stern as commissioner following Stern's retirement effective February 1, 2014.

He will most likely continue the insane practices of the monster they call David Stern. Hopefully, for our sake, he hated the man enough to sift through all the nonsense that has littered the NBA for the last 29 years.
