Members of New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez's inner circle leaked the names of Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun and his own teammate Francisco Cervelli to the media in the Biogenesis scandal, according to a report by "60 Minutes."

The leak came days after the Miami New Times published redacted documents from Biogenesis founder Anthony Bosch that revealed comprehensive doping regimens for professional athletes including Rodriguez.

Wait, I thought MLB was leaking rumors that Selig was mad at A-Rod for obstructing the PED investigation. Now, the rumors are the A-Rod helped it by leaking names?

Typical Selig snake-oil smoke and mirrors.

Ya, what advantage did Francisco Cervelli get from PED's?

He can finally wear his fathers hats.

And after a quick glance his power numbers, the small sample size that they are, are up this year.

Braun got himself suspended.

not only this, but Braun apparently tried to circulate a story that the guy who had his urine was both anti-semitic and a Cubs fan to try and destroy his rep.

what a complete piece of crap.

I find myself rooting for A-Rod now. MLB is protecting their brand and will make the players pay for what in reality saved baseball in the late 90's. a large percentage of players were doing it, MLB knew it. I hope the Red Sox flame out down the stretch as well as the hypocrites who step on the field and spout off against any of those branded as "cheaters".

Hey, Kirk Gibson, how does Matt Williams feel about PED's?

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-b...-braun-forgetful-matt-williams-195112568.html

Except that he has. Gibson's third base coach, Matt Williams, admitted to taking shipments — plural — of "human growth hormone, steroids and other questionable substances, over a period from 2002-2005. Williams says he took the drugs to help him heal after an ankle injury in 2002." The Arizona Snakepit blog reported as such in 2007.

It was common practice and accepted throughout the league at one time and then it was not. There's no doubt that Matt (and Luis) and many other Dbacks took PED's, it was league-wide. But a line was drawn in the sand in 2003 and players past that point became cheaters if they crossed that line. Matt retired in 2003.
