The first week of the girls lacrosse season in the Shore Conference has been an exciting one.
Heartbreaking losses, tough division battles and high-scoring performances have all happened to start the lax season. There have been some new names as underclassmen who've made an immediate impact on the season - while the known names from last year have picked up where they left off.

Here are the top 15 girls lacrosse teams in the first week of the 2025 season.
The Blue Devils have gotten off to a fast start winning four straight with their strong defense. So far they’ve held every team to single digits, goalkeeper Sofia Merten made 26 saves so far this season. Senior and midfielder Gabby O’Brien had six goals and four assists over Manalapan. She led the team with 15 goals. Shore has gotten wins over the Braves, Wall, Manasquan and Middletown South. They sit at the top of the American Division and Shore Conference as of now.
The Bulldogs may have lost in an overtime heartbreaker to Lawrenceville after leading 13-6 going into the fourth quarter, but in the Shore Conference they’re as strong as anyone. RFH’s 17-10 season opener win over Southern proved to that the Bulldogs are still among the best at the Shore. They also got another blowout 15-4 win over Red Bank Regional. Mia Minkowski, Rachel James and Daisen Iwan have all been strong offensively putting up numbers.
The Monarchs have been challenging themselves with a tough schedule to start the season. They lost in overtime to Allentown and fell to Pingry — both powerhouse programs. However, they defeated Hill (Pa.) and got a blowout win over Wall. Senior Mary Catherine O’Connor scored a hat trick against Allentown, Wall and Pingry. She’s been the leading scorer for Trinity Hall with 11 goals and nine assists through four games.
The Eagles got off to a 2-0 start to begin the season with wins over Red Bank Regional and Toms River East. Junior Anna Stumberger went off for six goals against TRE and two goals against RBR, she leads the team in goals with nine. Anne Weise has made 23 saves in the three games. Their 8-6 loss to Shore holds them from moving up any further in this ranking.
The Warriors were able to get a season opener win over Holmdel, final score was 9-6. Chloe Stevens led the team with three goals against the Hornets, Olivia O’Reilly and Dylan Carnahan each had two goals. However, Manasquan fell to Shore and Moorestown right after.
The Rams got a blowout win over Wall to start their season. Senior and midfielder Avery Smith reached over 100 career goals already this season and leads the team in goals. Smith scored nine goals against Rumson-Fair Haven and four goals against Wall. Senior Delaney Falk had five goals against Wall.
The Bucs haven’t been able to pull together consecutive wins but they still got impressive victories. RBR defeated Central Regional in its season opener. Juniors Chloe Kheating and Karlie Ruland are the team leading scorers with 10 goals each. Losses to Middletown South and Rumson-Fair Haven prevent the Bucs from reaching the top five.
The Golden Eagles are at the top of the Colonial Division and riding a four-game win streak with their tough defense. Freshman Addison Frulio has already made a mark with her stellar play. Frulio leads the team in scoring with 20 goals. Senior Ryann Dunn is also one of their top scorers with 14 goals and four assists for the Golden Eagles.
The Raiders defeated Point Pleasant Boro, Manchester and Manalapan so far in the season. They fell to Middletown South in their second game of the season, but are unbeaten in their division. Senior Grace Crowley leads the team with 14 goals, five assists, and 16 draw controls so far in the season.
The Braves started out the season 2-0 with wins over Ocean and Barnegat. They would then fall to Shore and Toms River East. Sophomore Aryelle Stein leads in scoring with 22 goals. Junior Madison Alcantara is second in scoring for the braves with 15 total goals over four games.
The Bengals got an impressive shutout win over Middletown North in their season opener. Barnegat also defeated Jackson Memorial and Toms River North in blowouts thanks to their strong defense. Senior attack Emilia Ercolino has played strong with her 12 goals on the season. Ella Tortorici is second in scoring with nine goals.
The Panthers went on a three-game win streak after losing to Toms River East in the season opener. They shutout Colts Neck, giving Sloane Schwertheim a clean sheet. They also beat Wall and Jackson Memorial. Junior Lily Scalabrini leads the team in scoring with nine goals.
The Hornets beatRed Bank Catholic, Wall, and Brick Township in single-digit games. They lost to Central Regional and Manasquan. Freshman Ryann Buchan has made an immediate impact leading the team in scoring with 13 goals.
The Mustangs have yet to be beaten and are 1-0 in the Constitution division. They defeated Howell, Middletown North and Ocean. Senior Kammi Haeusser leads the team in scoring with 15 goals. Underclassman and midfielder Elizabeth Stellato has been playing strong for Marlboro.
The Caseys defeated Freehold Township, Ocean, and Colts Neck. They also lost to Holmdel in the season opener and Red Bank Regional. They’re 2-0 in the Constitutional Division. Sophomore Alexandra Rogers leads in scoring with 18 goals. Senior Malia D’Alterio has 17 total goals on the season through five games.
