What would the cap savings/cost be if we were to cut James. With the recent reports about our cap situation, maybe Graves decides to cut James and use the #16 pick on a RB. Or, maybe he cuts James and brings in Micheal Turner or some other vet RB. It's not what I would do, but I could see one of these hypotheticals playing out, most likely drafting a RB 1st round.

I think I'd be tempted to bring in Turner if we could get him for same or less than James this year. James cap hit is large, 6.75, but if we cut him we only save 3.25 (less if we have a bonus due next year). I'd be surprised if we could get Turner for less than that. I do recall James contract was structured weird with alot of upfront cash the first 2 years, but can't remember the details.

There is no scenario where we can cut Edge, sign a back that is better and save money. Cutting Edge and counting on a rookie is a high risk. Personally, I'd rather keep Edge this year, try to work out Fitz, and cut him next year after (hopefully) finding a RB in one of the first 3 rounds that can be our future this year.

Cutting Edge would be ridiculously counterproductive, even if we drafted a RB. He's a proven NFL starter, and we'd have only an unproven rookie elsewise.
