For all the golfers out there, Abomb (adam) and I are rolling out a site focused on you. It is www.ParStars.com, a place for golfers to talk and meet up. Right now we just have the forums up live. It has a MySpace kind of feel to it, with individual blogs and galleries and comments and such. It's really in its infancy right now, but we are looking for people who want to talk golf, to get the ball rolling.
I hate to tap ASFN for this, but there really isn't a great desire for golf talk on the site, unfortunately. I don't want to try to sift people from ASFN...I still will post here all the time, but when it comes to golf, I hope this can be as good for golf as ASFN is for the major Arizona sports scene.
We are working on the main site right now, which includes a hierarchical searching system for courses that correspond to each golfer's primary desires for a course, be it difficulty or the awesomeness of the food service. Round tracking, discount coupons, tee time reservation, classified ads, etc. are all in the works. We have an 18,000 course database we are working on that is wiki-style updated that should launch before the end of the year, with news, interviews and product reviews as well.
If you are interested, please check it out. Send your golfing buddies the link as well. We aren't trying to steal traffic...just trying to find some people interested in golf who like to post online too. Baby steps.
www.ParStars.com is the URL. Visit if you want to. I understand if you don't.
Thanks,
Donald
