About that Jersey...

Last year I was twisted on who to get for my "free" Cardinal jersey; "free" because of the laying down the price for season tickets.

The choices were: Jake, DB, or KVB. I made the KVB choice and get to actually wear it again this year (lucky, not smart).

For those who got either a Plummer or Boston jersey, any thoughts on what you are going to do with them?

Would you like a suggestion?

Lots of ideas jump to mind in terms of destruction...but maybe you can salvage them by seeing a good tailor and replacing the name with your choice of handles...not much you can do about the number.

My wife got a KVB, and I got a Lassiter.

Even if Kwamie leaves, I'll wear his jersey proudly. I know and respect Kwamie not only for his tough play on the field, but for who he is off the field. Kwamie will always be one of my favorite players.

2. Tackling Dummy

3. Fake passenger dummy for HOV commuter lanes on freeways

4. Halloween costume

5. Hallway throw rug.

I'm saving my Plummer and Jones jerseys as bet-pay-offs. I bet "looser wears opposing team's jersey" quite a bit. This gives me 3 for others to wear.

Plus, whenever a friend of mine wants to go to a game, but isn't really a Cardinals fan, they wear one of mine as part of the discounted ticket purchase.

All three of my kids have Plummer –

I also have a Plummer –

And from years past I have a signed Clyde Simmons –

I wish there were an “after market” where I could purchase new name panels so I could update some of these jerseys….

As for a new one (and I really prefer to have current players) I have no idea – one of the challenges of being a Cardinal fan is you never know who is going to be around in five years ( or even two ) –

Maybe I should just go for the retro #15 Lomax, or the #81 Roy Green, or the #85 Mel Gray and just be done with it

It was part of Bidwill's plan for increased sales of Cardinal stuff!

Of the four options of our team-leaders (thaks Brian for the correction / addition of Kwamie), only one remains this year. Three out of four of the fan / marketing favorites gone. And to think I was worried about KVB because of injury!

I think sewing a new name panel would be the easiest thing to do for salvage. Matching the material may be the toughest part...but maybe based on our historical retention of players, it would be best to pur your OWN name back there. Hmmmm....Section 11 would have a whole new meaning!

Let your wife wear the old jersey(s) around the bedroom. Then, rather than being bitter like game days of the past, you'll actually appreciate the feeling of getting screwed by the person in the jersey.
