It has become increasingly clear that Cam Ward will be the top quarterback selected in the 2025 NFL draft. The Tennessee Titans own the top pick in this year's draft, but ESPN's Adam Schefter says it doesn't matter which team has the top pick, Ward is going to be the selection.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter tells @DRonESPN he expects Miami Hurricanes QB Cam Ward to be the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft, either to Tennessee or to Cleveland or the New York Giants trading into the top spot.pic.twitter.com/9kyrHOn36E

"Zero chance, zero chance that Cam Ward is going to make it to the Giants at three. Just not going to happen. So, I expect that Cam Ward will be the number one pick in the draft, whether that's Tennessee or Cleveland or the New York Giants making that pick. And this is all part of the process, right, you begin to evaluate all these guys, teams do deeper and deeper dives into them. From my perspective in talking to more and more people, before the combine, after the combine, and I'm just telling you, the conversations I've had have convinced me that Cam Ward will be the number one pick. And, certainly the first quarterback off the board, and certainly, I think, the number one overall guy."

Schefter is notoriously correct when predicting what is going to happen in the NFL. He's got a nose for sniffing out underlying meanings in conversation and has a way of figuring things out. Last year, he toldWashington Commanders fans it was safe to buy a Jayden Daniels jersey two weeks before the draft. The Commanders took Daniels with the second pick in 2024.

Now Schefter is saying that Cam Ward will be selected with the top pick, no matter which team is sitting there on draft day. It's probably safe to believe him, not just because he's usually right, but each of the first three teams to pick in this year's draft all need a quarterback.

The Titans added Brandon Allen on Thursday, but it's hard to believe they think he's the answer to the quarterback problem. Unless something drastic happens, the Titans are likely going to keep that top pick. And they'll probably pick Cam Ward.
