Adrian Gonzalez homered three times for the Los Angeles Dodgers against the San Diego Padres on Wednesday night, making him the first player in major league history with five in the season's first three games. His third homer leading off the fifth inning extended the Dodgers' lead to 6-2. Gonzalez is the first Dodger to hit three in a game since teammate Juan Uribe did so against Arizona on Sept. 9, 2013. Gonzalez's five homers in the first three games made major league history, according to information provided to the Dodgers by the Elias Sports Bureau.
