What a *****. But I don't understand the charges. Why JUST resisting arrest?? You have to be under arrest for something before you can resist arrest??? Yet that is the only charge??

Thanks, Gee, but that link only says there is probably a video, it is not a link to the incident.

Read the first article. Says he pushed back a police officer who asked him to leave. After the push the officer told him he was under arrest. That is assault, no? And after that, it is resisting. Or am I missing something?

He will get a big boy attorney and all charges will be dropped.
It'll
Be a silent exchange of dropping the charges and he'll take some minor offense thatll cost him$250
This isn't going to court..but it is an example of going to the club and problems that follow.
Some will NEVER learn

Not defending him, but Ive met some club security guards who were straight up ______ ______ _____ ______'s.

I have an itching feeling that someone was trying to act like a tough guy and try to impose his authority over Adrian. I surmised this because it was reported that the guard was kicking Adrian out when he was trying to order a water as the club was closing. Legally, clubs with booze must provide water to patrons, even after hours. This is due to the somewhat recent law that bars are now semi responsible for how drunk their customers get.

So my thinking is the club was closing up, Adrian tried to order a water to go and this gorilla d-bag wants to get a story for his boys about how he strong armed Adrian Peterson.

When Adrian said "chill out, Ima get my water and leave", tough guy got physical. Adrian fought back like we all would, and boom, its now resisting arrest.

Thats what happened.

Who in their right mind gets pissed off enough to push a cop because he can't get a glass of water?

No no no. You've got it all wrong. I think AP was simply bringing attention to the toilet paper that was stuck to the officers shoe after he came out of the restroom so he wouldn't get embarrassed when he walked out the bar.. He was just looking after the officer.. Complete misunderstanding and it should all be cleared in court..

Your not getting it. You see the trees: A pro athlete fighting cops at a bar. But not the forrest: every other variable at play.

The security guard was overreacting. Like I said, trying to feel like a big man because he told a pro bowl RB to leave. 9 times out of 10, thered be no problem with someone ordering a water when the clubs closing, even if they are the last person in the room. In fact, most club owners probably encourage handing out water as people are stumbling out to cover themselves for any liability, for the reason I already stated above.

It has nothing to do with Adrian getting upset he couldnt get a water.

I guarantee the guard was the one getting pushy and hostile. If the club closed at 3am, it was probably 3:01 and the guard was immediately up in Adrians face, because how often do you get the chance to order a millionaire around?

Give it a week till Im dead on with everything, it fits too perfectly.

Im surprised you guys are so quick to jump to the conclusion that it was Adrians fault. 1. This is America, its innocent until proven guilty..you bunch of communists. and 2. Reputation does matter. Adrian has been nothing but a professional and ambassador to the game his entire career. Theres one brush up, and hes instantly some diva trouble maker? He was ordering a water for goodness sake, not purple-drank to go.

Whereas on the other hand, every club security guard ive ever met in my life has been a jerk.

Drunk people do stupid sh*t. Makes no sense the next day.

What I don't get, I guess because I'm a homebody, but man, I'd have a huge kitchen with chefs and a big screen theatre and the works if I made AP money. I wouldn't even go out man, I'd just tell the chefs to make some sweet food and watch movies and open up the bar in my own house. Invite all your family and friends and get down. Dude, the VIP section of that restaurant isn't as nice as even 1 of the rooms in his mansion.

Well the officer wasn't wearing a uniform. If someone is going to bring up the police officer part, they should pull out a badge as they are announcing it.

He could just be joe blow.

Maybe the bouncer was an idiot. It's obvious AP was. Maybe both were.

Either way if a cop isn't in a uniform, they can't act as if the other guy knows he is until AFTER he sees a badge. Until then, he should have a bit more leeway...especially since he's being paid as a bouncer at a club.

Bouncers can have some leeway, or can be completely hard. Or anywhere in between. The off duty cop knows bouncers get pushed. So is he arresting someone every night? If so, why is he employed there?

Lots of questions.

Of course AP is an idiot. But it sounds messed up all around.

Considering your user name is "40yearfan" Im guessing youre no spring chicken.

Perhaps times have changed. Nowadays, I can tell you, club security guards look for trouble. And If they cant find any, they make some.
