The field at the 2025 Valspar Championship got a bit weaker Monday morning.

Akshay Bhatia, ranked 21st in the Official World Golf Ranking, withdrew from the final stop of the Florida Swing at Innisbrook Resort's Copperhead Course on Monday afternoon. A reason was not given.

Bhatia tied for third Sunday at the 2025 Players Championship, finishing two shots behind eventual winner Rory McIlroy and J.J. Spaun. Bhatia was the solo leader at the tournament's halfway mark but shot 75-70 on the weekend.

The two-time Tour winner is expected to tee it up the week before the Masters at the Valero Texas Open, where he's the defending champion. Although he missed the cut at the Arnold Palmer, he had three straight top-nine finishes in his past four starts. If he remained in the Valspar field, Bhatia likely would've played six times in seven weeks, only sitting out next week's Texas Children's Houston Open.

Even with Bhatia's withdrawal, the field for the Valspar remains stout, as 23 of the top 50 players in the world are set to tee it up, including world No. 3 Xander Schauffele. Peter Malnati is the defending champion.
