Agent Steinberg files for bankruptcy (AP)

Sports agent Leigh Steinberg, who represented many of the NFL's biggest stars and was the inspiration for the movie "Jerry Maguire," has filed for bankruptcy protection. Known as the first super agent, Steinberg said Wednesday that he takes responsibility for debts of several million dollars.

I always thought Drew Rosenhaus was the inspiration for Jerry Maguire. Leigh Steinberg doesn't quite have that kind of flamboyant personality.

Didn't Steinberg used to rep Leinart? That's got to be a contributing factor to bankruptcy right there...

I'm sure he'll survive. He may have to resort to just being a lawyer again. Doubt we'll see him digging in the dumpster.
