Some agents are reportedly threatening that they will keep their free agents away from teams with hard-line owners and of course Sarver's name came up, despite earlier reports than he wasn't a hard-liner at all or at least not as much as others. His reputation may precede him, and that may be bad news for the Suns when trying to sign free agents this summer or next when they have cap room.

"I don't want any of my clients playing for Michael Jordan, Paul Allen, Robert Sarver, Dan Gilbert or Peter Holt," the agent told Hoopsworld. "We won't sign with them, unless they're willing to really overpay. That's going to be the only way these hard-line owners are going to land any free agents after the way they've handled these negotiations."

So when the lockout finally ends and the Charlotte Bobcats, Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns, Cleveland Cavaliers and San Antonio Spurs are having trouble signing big-name free agents, you'll know why.

The irony is that old Rob's MO is to stay away from big name FA's and overpay for crappy ones, so the jokes on the agents, ha!

It is about time for the minority owners of the Suns to make life miserable for Robert Sarver and give him "the foam finger". He is a threat to their investments.

I just looked up the wikipedia list of professional sports teams owners. Robert Sarver is the only name listed as owner of the Suns. If he is the majority owner, I wonder how that works.

Did you know that Jerry Colangelo is listed as the #2 Staff member on the Suns.nba site, jut below Sarver? His title is Chairman.

Is he or is he not still involved in the decision making of the Suns? Perhaps he ought to return to his Chicago roots, take Sarver outside behind US Airways Center and beat the $hit out of him until he agrees to sell. :D

What a dumb threat by the agent. He's going to get his player the best deal in the best situation possible. If he doesn't then he's a lousy agent.

Bingo. He is only hurting his clients and if he goes through with this threat he won't be repping many players. Idiot.

Aren't the Suns one of the few teams turning a profit under the old system? Bottomline Bob isn't going to cost them money, and as already stated the Suns were already in the business of not going after big FA and overspending the lesser ones.

If the agents did that, wouldn't that be collusion on their part?

And wouldn't they be doing their clients a disservice if they steered them away from better offers from say, Charlotte to a lesser offer from a team they liked?

Absolutely true. Once this is over, players will start playing for the highest bidder again, just like before.

These are just agents saying "we're on your side"
