First time I watched in five seasons. Was pretty wicked, but do you need to have watched previous seasons? Seems like the clowns were a callback to last season's commercials I saw.

I dont think previous seasons are required. Seems every season stands on its own for the most part.
wasnt roanoke the last season??

my guess is they try to touch on some current events... remember a couple years back people were seeing "scary clowns" everywhere??

The previews were actually pretty interesting, but the writers proved especially inept at maintaining a coherent story line in the carny season, so I'm passing.

do they maintain the same writers? I seem to watch like every other season... first season didnt do it for me,.. but Coven was really good,... Hotel was a bit strange but not bad,...the carnival season was really bad but Roanoke was decent

some shows keep the same staff, others don't. it's probably a solid mix of new and old in that room.

Didn't like the first episode at all. Will watch #2 to see if it gets better.

It needs more twisty storyline.

There will be no "supernatural" characters in this season. I'm curious how long this thread stays out of P&R honestly.

I was going to say that they might just be part of the lead's psychosis, but her son saw them too.

maybe that answers the questions about which mom is his birth mother...hereditary psychosis??

I think it was pretty clear from the previews that the clowns are real. The cult chick inserted with the family was giving the kid clown toys, so I figured it was a setup with the clown.

Finally finished the first episode. I think there are both real clowns and imagined clowns. The clowns in the grocery store are the same clowns in the ice cream truck that killed the neighbors. The clown jerking off in the restaurant looked unlike any of the clown gang and was likely imagined like the bloody crumpet and severed fingers.

This show is bananas. Only prob for me is that the clowns don't scare me that much because every time they show up on screen all I see and hear is the Killer Klowns From Outer Space title song.

I'm the opposite, but clowns are a phobia of mine.

Been awhile since I felt that tension in a horror show. Going to see IT tomorrow for date night, but since I know the story well, I don't think it will affect me too much.

Seeing It with a clown phobia? Better you than me! I mean, I did manage to make it through Arachnophobia, but was an utter train wreck afterwards.

I REALLY need to stop watching this as the last thing I do before I go to sleep. Both times I had crazy weird/fun/nightmarish dreams with characters from the show in it.

It's all sort of twisted. I love it.

tonights (last night) episode was good... the twists keep on coming. I thought I had this figured out as a general poking fun of political views but this has gone beyond... I am thinking they are poking fun at society in general and fanatics as a whole. the writing is good but the imagery is pretty disturbing at times, lol...and I am a pretty sick fudge so for me to be disturbed is saying something.

This show started with a bang but went out with a whimper.
