The Seattle Seahawks continued an overhaul of their quarterback room on Friday night, taking former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe with the No. 92 overall pick in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Milroe, who became the third Alabama prospect off the board, will be under no pressure to step in and start immediately. Seattle signed free agent quarterback Sam Darnold to a 3-year, $100.5 million contract on March 13.
At 6-foot-2, 225 pounds, Milroe's sheer athletic ability on the ground has been compared to 2-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson. The Katy, Texas native became the fourth quarterback off the board after Cam Ward, Jaxson Dart and Tyler Shough.

Milroe racked up 2,844 passing yards with 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions for the Tide in 2024. But more notably, he racked up 726 yards and 20 touchdowns with his legs.
NFL Draft analyst Lance Zierlein pointed out what he'll have to work on at the next level if he wants to eventually become a full-time starter one day.
"Milroe is an explosive athlete who is very capable outside the pocket, but he lacks accuracy, touch, and decision-making when he’s inside the pocket," Zierlein wrote. "A lack of anticipation and timing leads to interceptions and contested throws to intermediate areas of the field. He has an NFL arm, but he might need to fine-tune his footwork and delivery to improve accuracy on all three levels."
Though Milroe’s collegiate career was marked by ups and downs in the passing game, his upside as a prospect is undeniable. Now, it'll be up to Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald to unlock that potential.
