I only started listening to the Beatles a year ago. I meant to download a few songs, the most famous ones. But as I listened to each one, I kept downloading more. By the end of the day there were over 250 mp3 files in my newly created Beatles folder. Even forty years after they first appeared, Beatles are still an addictive musical experience. Not many bands can say that. But then again, no other band had ever been more influential in the history of rock music. When you listen to the Beatles, you are listening to music that inspired generations of rock gods. Since my illegal Beatles song download binge last year I have started to legally add their records to my cd collection and this was the third one I bought. There are just so many memorable songs on this album: "Come Together", "Something", "Oh! Darling", "I Want You", "Because" and my favorite "You Never Give Me Your Money/Carry that Weight" medley.

I am very glad/excited that you discovered the greatness of the Beatles..... I've said enough about them on here, however, I'll just add the following....

The most stunning factor of "Abbey Road" is how they managed to produce one of the best all-time albums ever in probably the most adverse conditions in terms of the immense turmoil between the band....

I mean.. they just recorded their worst output of music ever (in form of the "Let It Be" sessions) and were constantly fighting and werent close to being a cohesive unit, but a miracle happened..they somehow managed to "Come Together" amd create some magic......

That medley on the 2nd side was pure genius... I always laughed on how John dismissed it all as "rubbish" but he contributed most of the masterpieces like "Sun King", "Mean Mr Mustard", and "Polythene Pam".... Also.."Because" featured their most intricate 3-part harmonies since their earlier albums..... Sounded like John, Paul, and George were a choir.......

"Oh Darling!" was Paul shredding his vocal chords trying to revert back to how he sounded on "I'm Down" and of course this album really marked how George how emerged from someone who was forced to play "second fiddle" but then generated some of the best songs in the Beatles catalogue..especially "Something"... probably one of the best ballads of all-time....

Lord.. I could just go on and on about the Beatles and "Abbey Road", but what more really can be said? :D
