The First CD I ever purchased. Petty’s first solo album and one of his best, along with Torpedoes. Each track is solid, I could listen to the CD over and over again. Petty personifies American Rock.

Great album! I would say my favorite song from that album is "Runnin' Down A Dream".
I'm gonna have to go whip that cd out now. :thumbup:

This c.d. just brings back memories to me of '89, the year I turned 13.....

Just that driven guitar all throughout "Runnin' Down A Dream" makes that entire album all worthwhile... just how deeply affected he was of his idol Del Shannon and just singing about his hero made it even more impressive....

True.. Jeff Lynne might have been too lush at times and tried to replicate the Beatles sound a little too much (especially on "I Wont Back Down"), but of course there isnt entirely wrong with that whatsoever.........

And a side-note... I always thought that girl rollerskating in "Free Fallin'" video was extremely hot, but of course there's more to that song than that... :D

This was probably his best album separate from the ones he recorded away from the Heartbreakers, however, his releases since havent captured the magic/allure of "Full Moon Fever".....
