Bob Marley was and will forever be a legend and innovator... "Exodus" is my favorite album by him, however, "Redemption Song" is my favorite song by him.....
"Exodus" had a slew of hits though... "Jamming", "Exodus", Waiting In Vain", and "One Love/People Get Ready"....
"Exodus" was released after an attempt on Marley's life, so this entire album was even more "mellower" compared to his previous efforts....He was in deep reflecting/rejoicing of his life at the time this album was recorded...Shocking though that he passed away 4-years later at the age of 36.... Just makes me wonder what direction he would have taken, especially in the wake of "New Wave" music....
There's nothing like "mellowing" out to his music...especially for me after a night of heavy drinking at a club/bar....."Exodus" always puts me at ease regardless of how much chaos I'm enduring.....A "must have" for anyone that appreciates Marley or Reggae in general...
