I could not go this week without Operation Ivy. I was 14 and at Zia records and was trading some old tapes and came across Operation Ivy, I had heard something about them. I picked it up and I was hooked, I can honestly say Operation Ivy was my stepping stone into punk and onto Blatz, Screeching Weasal, ect. I also blame these guys for the lame trendy popy crap so called punk, but that is ok, no one can blame them for being so great they inspired so many. They released a album under the name downfall which was equally as good, but ow out of print and impossible to find  The sond Sound Sytem is my top 3 alltime songs and Unity and Take Warning helped me expressed my distaste for racism. This album was not only a great musical a album, but also has a point and message that I took and ran with. If you want to get the point they are making check the cd out.

I love Operation Ivy! I have 3 different Op Ivy CD's, Energy, Unreleased Energy and Lint Rides Again. Whenever I put Op Ivy in the CD player I can't take it out for weeks. I'm a little bit fanatical when it comes to them. I have something by every member post Op Ivy. Drummer Dave Mello went to form *******, Matt and Tim obviously went to to start Rancid along with various other projects and Jesse Michaels put out an EP with a band called Big Rig before finally putting together a new band called Common Rider with some former Screeching Weasel members.

BTW, anyone who likes Operation Ivy should definitely check out Common Rider, both albums are fantastic.
