When I first heard that Alex Cross, previously played by Morgan Freeman, would be played by Tyler Perry...I thought it was a joke. When I heard Tyler Perry I automatically thought of him as Madea and thought he'd butcher a serious role like this. Feeling better after watching the trailer for Alex Cross. The craziest part of it is the villain. Matthew Fox reinvented himself for this role.
