Dude got arrested pre-draft for being loud with Kenny Vaccaro at a pizza joint lol. Weird arrests seem to be his thing.

If correct it's another case of a black man standing around doing nothing and then arrested because he was a danger to the whole of societ. Throw away the keys and put him in jail. When will this stuff end. Would warren buffet be arrested for standing where ever he wanted to stand?

We don't know what's the case here, but that's not going away, in fact, it's being extended to everyone of every race, religion, creed, and sex with taser backup and MRAPS to boot. Of course, sometimes they choose to turn off their wearable cameras/dash cam as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was one of those situations though where a bar/nightclub situation gets out of hand on the streets outside and the police officers ask people to leave, and some don't. Maybe he wasn't involved and was just there. Sometimes people don't think it applies to them, since they are just there, and not a part of the melee or whatever.

Then they arrest you for public intoxication and resisting arrest for not listening to them, even if that person might have only had a couple of drinks and wasn't really a threat. It's not right, but at the same time, it's also not the time to be testing a police officer. That's not the time or place to be standing up for your rights in that fashion.

But we won't know what the deal is until details come out, until then it's just all speculation.

A misdemeanor which isn't terrible, but not what you want to see out of a player who you are expecting to take a big step.

seriously? He was standing in the middle of the street at 3am and refusing arrest. that is far from OMG a black man is walking by, arrest him!

I mean, trying to pull the race card on a 3am arrest is just silly.

I'm not sure how literally we should take "standing in the street." It might just mean standing on the sidewalk. I don't know.

If was actually standing in the middle of the street, it's probably a good thing he was removed.

regardless, all of this "OMG he got arrested for being black" is nonsense. it was 3am.

The Austin American-Statesman reports that Okafor, who played his college ball at the University of Texas, was arrested on Monday morning for resisting arrest.
Wow. Talk about chicken or egg.

Possibly the most news worthy part of this... well this...

Boyd did not offer more information on the nature of the original disturbance or about a warrant that was out for his arrest on a previous Class C misdemeanor.
But then...

Okafor was a 2013 fourth-round pick by the Cardinals and led the team in sacks with eight last season.
So Okafor is our leading sack man. I never really thought of it that way. But yeah I guess so.

Behind you
either way its more garbage the Cards have to deal with....
this isn't what Keim wants to deal with.

Why the heck don't these guys learn? Cop says jump then JUMP...Cop says flap your wings and cluck like a chicken YOU DO IT...they have total control and fighting them is only going to cause problems. You can talk about honor and what have you, but at that moment a cop arrives....you listen and understand any wrong move can result in jail...and don't ever forget it.

This sounds about right. One thing I have always had to remember when I have been elsewhere is that there ARE public intox laws. Arizona has long banned public intox laws, so you don't have these kind of issues where the police can just arrest drunk people to clean up a busy street after bars close. You have to be much more careful in other states where the laws exist, because you can end up arrested just for being in the wrong place drunk at the wrong time. It could very well be that he was surprised by whatever happening and argued with the officer.

There is racial prejudice everywhere but man, you need to be aware of the city he got arrested in, Austin. I went to school at UT, and hippie central is not exactly noted for its racist cops. Dude probably was drunk, and probably on Sixth street as Bucky cited, and got into a shouting match with some students on Spring Break (hence, let's assume also some women where involved haha) getting drunk like him :)

So you think people should be allowed to just stand in the middle of a street whenever the spirit moves them? Really? And, as usual when in doubt, drop the race card. You're right. When will THAT stuff end.

Nothing happens good on 6th in Austin after 2am which I'm sure is were he was...it's party central

Read it was 6th and Trinity. Here's the link from a local news station: http://www.kvue.com/story/news/loca...arrested-after-downtown-disturbance/24644557/

"Police charged Okafor, 24, with evading arrest and a city ordinance violation following the disturbance near Sixth and Trinity streets around 2 a.m. Monday. Police said when they tried to question Okafor following the disturbance, he ran away. Police are still investigating what led to the disturbance."

"Police said Okafor also had a warrant out for his arrest on a Class C misdemeanor charge, but no other information on that case was immediately available."

Sounds like a case of black man going for a jog..:D

Seriously though hopefully he figures his sh*t out and also hopefully he doesn't get too much of a suspension.
