San Diego, St. Louis and Oakland have all officially put in for the move to LA. I think it will be St. Louis for sure, with the possibility of adding San Diego too.

I'm a little confused by all this. Is there a stadium ready to go?

I don't think it will be 2 AFC teams.

I think they (NFL/LA) are waiting for these relocation meetings to finalize before they build a stadium (guessing). It costs $550 million to relocate a team. Read that the Rams want to be in Inglewood and raiders and chargers want to be in Carsen if they go

The team(s) will play in either the Coliseum, Angels stadium, or the Stub Hub Center (this venue sucks and is small).

What could have a direct impact on the Cardinals is that if the Chargers and the Raiders are the teams that move, one of them will probably be flipped to the NFC West and a NFC West team will be moved to the AFC. There will be a lot of politicking going on and I don't believe any of the teams right now have the votes to move. Word has it that St Louis is the least likely to move as St Louis is the farthest along in building a new stadium and the NFL is looking at two teams in one stadium and the Chargers/Raiders are the ones proposing that. Could go anyway though. Will come down to money as is always the case.

There will be no realignment in 2016 or 2017....2018 at the earliest. Just like when AZ moved from St. L they stayed in the NFC East.

Screw the raiders, they were in LA, moved to Oak, now they want to come back?

The Rams make more sense geographically.

Sorry for the Chargers though, San Diego didn't even make an effort to keep them.

I can't believe San Diego is allowing them to leave. Crazy.

San Diego is only a few hours away. I think only they move.

Tricky.

St. Louis is the least likely to move, but moving TWO teams to LA.

Chargers is most likely, but their stadium proposal is a joined with the Raiders.

I'm ok with the Rams moving to LA. They are our rival and would be closer for the team to travel. Plus they were there already.

St. Louis has all the politicians and city/state approvals for a new stadium but my guess is Silent Stan will move the team anyway even if the others vote against him. Pretty much sucks though because here they will use public money but in California it is all private money.

He's having trouble getting the stadium he wants to build in Inglewood approved, though...and he's on the record for stating he will refuse to be a tenant in the Carson stadium...He wants stadium ownership above all else. The Carson stadium has already been approved by their city council and fast tracked for the Raiders and Chargers.

I think in the long term you could actually see some shifting of other teams and cities...IE: San Diego wasn't able to approve a bond in time to keep the Chargers from applying for reinstatement...so if they do get one approved in the next couple of months, you may see a team like the Rams move there, while the Chargers still go to LA (they are done with San Diego, regardless of stadium approval)...and a team like Jacksonville backfill Saint Louis next year with a new stadium approved. Sounds very screwy, but it can happen and has been talked about.

Jacksonville. Kahn put almost 300 million into the stadium so not sure if he will make the move to St. Louis. Two things that could change his mind is 1) He is from this part of the country and 2) the new stadium in St. Louis would also be able to have a MLS team. Kahn owns London soccer team Fulham so he has an interest in the sport.

I think it'll be Chargers and Rams

I like this option but as I understand it they are in bed with the Raiders for the Carson development so the only way I see that happening is if they award the Inglewood/Rams the market and they subsequently invite the Chargers in.

Neither plan requires public funding and Kroenke is loaded with a net worth of 6.3B and has a vision so I don't see him settling for an alternative of rerouting to San Diego. It is an interesting deal because St. Louis City Counsel has some momentum but I don't think Kroenke has any interest in staying in St. Louis regardless of the deal and the NFL has to value his financial muscle.

It is about business and risk. Spanos family worth 1.7B which to most is a ton but it isn't Kroenke money and who knows the unknowns of family dynamics. Spanos is 92 and there will obviously be a full transition to his son Dean and as we know from the Bidwills this doesn't have to be a bad thing. Kroenke is his own man but it doesn't hurt that his wife is a Walton with a 5B networth herself. No worries of a Donald Sterling situation there. I just get the sense that the sides will be based on the loyalties to an old NFL family or families (Davis 47% ownership of Raiders) versus the clean possibilities of a heavy hitter in Kroenke.

Again if it could be the Rams and Chargers you get the best of both worlds and you don't have to realign divisions until they move or expand to get a team back in St. Louis.

Chargers and STL

If that is the case it will likely be two separate stadiums....as IIRC the chargers have stated they do not want to bunk with the rams and would stay in sandy eggo instead.

IMO that plan would be best for LA...two teams, two stadiums.................... NFL teams should never share a venue,...especially if they are division rivals.

It works in NY. Thats why they would have to realign.

I wouldn't be surprised. After all, within the space of 15 years the Colts, Cardinals, Rams, and Browns all moved and all were replaced.

I can understand Kroenke not wanting to be a tenant, though. Makes no business sense to someone of that wealth.

The Chargers / Raiders have a proposal to move to a jointly backed stadium in Carsen while the Rams are proposing to build a stadium in Inglewood.

The league isn't going to do three teams so the choice is either Chargers / Raiders or the Rams.

If the league chooses the Chargers / Raiders then they should flip one of those two teams with a NFC West team. Flipping the Cardinals to the AFC makes the most sense to me. That would put three teams on the coast in one conference and Phoenix, LA, Denver in the other.

What happens if a team doesnt get it and has to go back to their hometown with their tail between their legs?

I would not want to see the Cardinals to the AFC. I like being an NFC team but it really doesn't matter anymore if that's where the money is. I agree the Chargers are done in San Diego. It's too bad if Oakland moves and poo on St. Louis for losing another NFL franchise.

Please do not blame my city for this. Unlike what happened before they went and did everything they could to keep the team here. Have approval from the state/county and city for public financing for a new stadium. Far more than San Diego or Oakland. This time it is an owner who is the bad person.

If you would read the stadium proposal all the PSL money for the right to buy season tickets would go directly to pay the owners portion of the financing. About 150-200 million or so. So the season ticket holders would be financing the owner's share. Add on the 400+ million in public money I think he makes out like a bandit. There is other financing to make up the difference but I do not know. Meanwhile the stadium he wants to build in California is financed by PRIVATE money which the people here cannot understand.

I am still a Football Cardinal fan who just wants an NFL team here in St. Louis.
