This was one of the most fascinating and tight Desert Empire League basketball seasons in a long-time as Palm Springs, Palm Desert and Rancho Mirage battled it out for supremacy.

In the end, they all split their head-to-head games and wound up as three-way co-champions with 8-2 records.

After the season, when the league's coaches got together to decide the all-league team, they had a tricky decision as to who would be the MVP? Cases could be made for multiple players.

And in the end, just like the actual league race, there apparently was no clear winner, as they decided on a three-way co-MVP between Rancho Mirage sophomore Marcus-Gragg Buchanan, Palm Springs senior Jayse Creavalle and Palm Desert junior Jecorey Jones.

Good choices. Gragg-Buchanan was the Rattlers' lead guard, who ran the fast-paced show for the Rattlers, often coming up big down the stretch in the biggest games.

Creavalle was the clear Alpha on the Indians, knifing into the lane to score when the team had to have a bucket and locking down the opponent's best player on a nightly basis.

Jones is a calm and collected player who can score in a lot of different ways. Unflappable and clutch throughout the season.

Each of them earned their share of the MVP.

The rest of the eight-man all-league first team featured Rancho Mirage freshman Cash Gervin, Palm Springs sophomore Kelynn Mount, Palm Desert junior Paul Dreisbach, Shadow Hills senior Sergio Felix and Xavier Prep's senior TJ Bosley.
