After watching a few Jayhawk games this year and doing some searching on You Tube. I hoping Ben Mc Lemore will be the Suns pick. He reminds me a lot of Wade at Marquette, still needs to work on his ball handling and perimeter def.

Huge McLemore fan here, and I do hope we can get him, but I am not sure about that Wade comparison. I seem to remember Wade having the ability to change directions at full speed, and a better cross-over.

I am OK with his defense. The ability is there- he may not be always using it, but it's there. He's a young kid and he has some good defensive fundamentals- I think with good coaching, he will be an above-average defender within his first two years.

I think he will end up being one of the top two picks though, so I don't think we'll be able to get him. Otto Porter is my second choice at the fifth pick, and I do hope we can get Glenn Robinson with the Lakers' pick. I can't quite explain why, but I think he will be a beast in a couple of years.

Alex Len is intriguing too, but I am not 100% sold on him just yet.

I'd be thrilled with McLemore, I remain unconvinced on Shabazz.

Steve

I just watched the UCLA UofA game. Shabazz plays under control which is good, but he plays below the rim most of the time and down on the block. He can score but I haven't seen much from his outside game for him to be pick above McLemore. He still could be a lotto pick, but he would be better served to spend one more year in College ball.

I think he'll go in the top 5 in this years draft but that's mostly because there aren't very many potential stars in this year's draft. That probably won't be the case next year so I'd be very surprised if he stuck around for another season. I also don't think Shabazz has much more room for improvement other than in decision making. McLemore, though already good, is far from his ceiling IMO.

I like McLemore a lot too. He doesn't remind me of Wade, he reminds me of Brandon Roy prior to injuries.

If McLemore would show some sort of ability to create his own shot I would be much more impressed. That being said Shabazz isn't all that much better at that than McLemore is. Archie Goodwin is better than all of them by a long shot when it comes to creating his own offense. His biggest problem is that he isn't aggressive often enough and sometimes when he does decide to be aggressive he can drive into trouble. He is also much better than either one at drawing contact around the basket and getting to the foul line and that is a big part of being a consistent scorer in the NBA. All things considered I still prefer Goodwin over either one and I think he could go over both if he can find some consistent aggressive play for the remainder of this season.
