Seeing stars in '09?
The Diamondbacks, who have formally applied to host the major league All-Star Game since 2000, hope to land the event in 2009, Managing General Partner Jerry Colangelo said.
"We keep reminding the league of our continued interest, but we're shooting for '09 and the reason is, we want to see downtown further along," Colangelo said. "The light rail system will be finished, the expansion of Civic Plaza will be finished, there will be a new hotel or hotels, and we'll be much more ready."
