When Houston and Miami last met in December, second-year Rockets guard/forward Amen Thompson was ejected and subsequently suspended multiple games for his role in a scuffle involving Heat guard Tyler Herro.
Miami won the game, and Herro was a standout in the victory.
Things have changed since. Houston won at Miami on Friday, 102-98 (box score), marking the NBA-leading ninth consecutive victory for the Rockets (46-25) and an NBA-worst 10th straight loss for the Heat (29-41).
Herro had just 8 points and 4 assists on 3-of-11 shooting (27.3%), and he turned the ball over 6 times. The scoring total was tied for his lowest output of the 2024-25 season.
Meanwhile, in his return from a six-game absence due to an ankle sprain, Thompson finished with 18 points, 9 rebounds, 7 steals, and 5 assists on 8-of-14 shooting (57.1%). Several of those steals came at Herro's expense, and cameras seemed to show Thompson pointing in Herro's direction after at least one of those sequences.
Scroll on for a compilation of Friday's Thompson-Herro rematch highlights. The Rockets were +20 in Thompson's 35 minutes, best of any player on the floor.
