Holly frickin Crow. I can't believe there is not a thread on this movie.

This might be my favorite movie of all time.

I use several of these quotes often.

I recently bought a DVD upconverter and this movie now looks very tight :)

Excellent movie. Watched it once, probably enough.

Movie is proof we need to get Ball out of TV and back into movies. Ball's slow-boiling pace works better in movies.

That said, I'm curious how True Blood will play ...

I don't think I will be watching it again, but I recall liking it.

Annette Benning is good in just about anything. Kevin Spacey not so much.

MESA! :thud:
I loved Kevin Spacey's acting in everything I've seen him in. I didn't care for this movie too terribly much, though.

But I'm very much a frame of mind movie-goer. If I'm not in the right mood for what I'm watching, I just can't enjoy it, and that may have been the case for this one. I may rewatch sometime & see if I like it better.

Overall, a "heh" movie, but it did have some really good moments...

C'mon, people. This was the best movie about suburban American Life ever made. It peels back the veneer of tree-lined streets and two-income families and shows it to be a facade. This was about showing the faux American dream of happiness through acquiring stuff.

Loved it. Loved the pace. Loved the characters, even the one-dimensional villain played smartly enough by Chris Cooper. Take away the smug bohemian punk kid that added an unwelcome preachiness to it and this movie is perfect

I've seen it several times. I find it sort of inspirational. I always watch it sometime between Xmas and New Years. When you have those post holiday blues its a nice reminder of how you can take life for granted.

A truly great movie. I agree, it's not one I can watch a whole lot of times, but a few of my other favorite flicks are like that, too.
