Just watched this movie over the weekend. It was really, really disturbing. I'm not sure if I can watch Batman Begins ever again.

:biglaugh:

I have watched American Psycho, before most of his other movies. You definitely get a different viewpoint of him as an actor after that movie.

Is this the one set in the 80's? If so, great flick; great performance.

Read the book. See where that'll take you. The movie is about 1/4 as disturbing as the book.

My gosh. I will never read that book then.

I dont mind blood and gore and violence (a la Reservoir Dogs), but this movie had so much of a mental element, that it left me kinda shaken.

I just watched it. Wow, great movie. I love endings like that. They force you to think about the film for a few days and play it back in your head. Bale was awesome.

too true. i read the book first and then saw the movie on opening night. i remember running into a huge group of girls from my high school who were all going to the movies. that was an awkward conversation.

gaggle of idiot girls: "are you like going to see 'keeping the faith' too?"
me: "no, 'american psycho' actually."
gaggle:

That's a great story.

This movie still creeps me out.

The more I think about this movie, the more impressive Bale’s acting becomes. This and The Machinist were awesome performances.

Have you watched this yet. Yeah, I'd say it's scary. Bale really freaked me out.

Wasn't scary really, but I wish someone would explain what the heck happened...

I think the murders in the movie were in his head and at the end his remaining sanity escapes him and he will actually become a murderer. In short I believe the murders shown were his fantasies but as the movie closes, he will actually become a mass murderer. The book was supposed to be a satire and I personally didn't like the movie, Bale gave an excellent performance though.
