If a fat loud mouth from Flynt can have a "documentary" career for pushing much crazier theories, why should a talented acress from France suffer?

We need to stop being so reactionary to stuff like this, especially with anyone from France. If you've ever studied 20th century French philosophers like Derrida or Lyotard, you'll realize nothing they say is meant to mean anything other than to get an emotional rise out of people.

1-Can't stand that idiot blabbermouth from Flynt either.

2-She should suffer a loss of viewership, and thus a loss of American work, because she's insulting the collective American intelligence (not surprising, as she's French).

3-That's yet another reason why the French are the most unendurable, arrogant, stuck-up, and pompous people on the face of the planet. It's laughable, considering how much of a joke their standing in the world is.

MESA! :thud:
Much ado about nothing, imho. So she thinks that? So what? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, even if it's misguided & stupid. You also get to voice that opinion whenever you want in our great nation.

If people want to boycott her movies, they can exercise that right, too. More power to everyone. :)

Freedom of Speech should include the right to be wrong, silly, and/or boycott.

Which "crazier theories" are you referring to? The one about a CEO that displaced thousands of workers while collecting an obscene bonus check? The one about the gun industry that accepts random carnage as just another cost of doing business? The one about a health care system that ranks your health care far below other considerations? Yeah, those are crazy!

There is more on the "controversy".

The only controversy in my mind is that we seem to have totally abandoned any kind of search for Osama Bin Laden years ago. When was the last time Bushy and his gang even mentioned his name? Did we ever really try or was it all lip service to start with? I assume there is a reason we don't really want to find him.

Moore always starts out with a plausible premise and wraps it in conjecture pieced together by favorable edits. Just ask Matt Stone or Sanjay Gupta, two people who are otherwise on board with Moore's politics.

Yeah, I understand some have issues with the editing. But to compare that to this wacky 9/11 conspiracy seems like a cheap shot. A lot of the Moore criticism is pretty nit-picky in the big scheme of things IMHO. Throwing out the message because of the delivery seems rather short sighted. Can't please everyone. And Gupta has been accused of using his pulpit to support health care special interests himself.
